Broker PDF import is not working
What to check when a broker trade confirmation or transaction statement PDF cannot be imported.
Common symptoms
- The import screen says the PDF could not be read.
- A supported broker PDF imports with missing symbols, wrong quantity, or duplicate charges.
- A trade summary or account statement imports differently than expected.
What to try first
- 1Update FolioSync to the latest Play Store version before retrying. PDF import improvements are released through app updates.
- 2Use the original PDF from the broker instead of a screenshot, scanned image, or edited copy.
- 3FolioSync supports Munir Khanani, SFEL, AKD, BMA, KTrade, Next Capital/Finqalab, Arif Habib, and JS Global PDFs. Some unknown formats can be handled with AI import.
- 4For Munir Khanani and Arif Habib, the app may ask whether the file is a daily confirmation or transaction statement. Pick the document type that matches the PDF.
- 5Keep the PDF header, broker name, column names, and full transaction table visible. If you need privacy, black out personal details only; do not crop the table or broker header.
- 6If the import works but values look wrong, compare symbol, date, quantity, rate, and broker charges against the PDF before saving the import.
When opening a ticket
- Attach the PDF that failed, the app version, broker name, and a screenshot of the import result.
- If the PDF contains private data, hide account number and CNIC, but keep table headers and transaction rows intact.
- For wrong cash or profit/loss after import, also export your portfolio from Settings > Data Protection > Export to Excel.
