Restore data on a new phone
How to prepare for phone changes, reinstallations, and accidental data loss.
Common symptoms
- You changed phones and need your portfolios back.
- You reinstalled the app and data is missing.
- You want to make sure your data is protected before resetting your device.
What to try first
- 1Before changing phones, create a fresh backup from Settings > Data Protection.
- 2Enable cloud or automatic backup if you want recurring protection without manually exporting every time.
- 3Keep a copy of the backup somewhere you can access from the new phone.
- 4On the new phone, install FolioSync and use the restore option from Data Protection.
- 5After restore, review portfolios, holdings, mutual funds, transactions, and notification settings.
When opening a ticket
- If restore fails, attach the backup file and a screenshot of the error.
- Mention the old device, new device, app version, and whether the backup was local or cloud-based.
