Notifications and background updates
How FolioSync handles portfolio summaries, market updates, and Android background limits.
Common symptoms
- Daily profit/loss notifications keep appearing.
- Midday portfolio update notifications keep appearing.
- Expected notifications do not arrive.
- Background refreshes seem inconsistent.
What to try first
- 1Use Settings > Notifications to turn Daily P&L Notification and Midday Portfolio Update on or off.
- 2Daily P&L Notification is a 6 PM market close summary and is enabled by default.
- 3Midday Portfolio Update is scheduled as an 11:45 AM live snapshot and is disabled by default.
- 4Allow FolioSync background usage in Android app settings if scheduled updates are being stopped.
- 5The News/Notifications screen is separate from support tickets and stores app announcements, stock announcements, and other in-app notification records.
- 6If a notification setting was changed, FolioSync updates the related reminder schedule automatically.
When opening a ticket
- Send device model, Android version, app version, notification settings screenshot, and whether battery optimization is enabled.
- Mention whether the issue is missing notifications or too many notifications.
